Each of Us Is An Inheritor
The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “There is no one among you who does not have two positions, one in Jannah and one in Jahannum. The believer will have a house built for him in Jannah, and his house in Jahannum will be demolished.” [Ibn Katheer] Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) has given two positions to every descendent of Adam: a position in Jannah and a position in Jahannum. Then whoever is destined to damnation will inherit the positions in Jahannum that had been allocated to the people of Jannah, and those of the people of Jannah for whom eternal bliss is decreed will inherit the portions of Jannah that had been allocated to the people of Jahannum. After describing the good deeds that would earn Jannah for the successful believers, Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) said: “These are indeed the inheritors, who shall inherit the Firdaws (Jannah). They shall dwell therein forever.” [Quran 23:10-11]
